Blog

20JUL26 - New Destinations

Howdy, everybody...and thanks for stopping by. I'm still just getting this site together and hope to have a real blog here shortly. In the meanwhile, let me just give you a few notes on what's going on with me.

I've been slowly building up a skillset in the land of DevOps. I'm endlessly fascinated with it. It all started with my Distributed Embedded System project, where I patched a microcontroller, Jetson Nano, and my Macbook all together to generate, process, log, and display data.

After playing around with so much Linux (Ubuntu 18.04), network settings, and the like, I had an itching to learn more.

After some research, I quickly got lost in a dizzying array of online tutorials, opinions, and courses. It was rough, man...there's a lot of info out there. After a few days, I realized I was most interested in learning about the DevOps pipeline. A few YouTube vids and ChatGippity conversations later, and I had a plan.

I've worked through some good chunks of that plan already. Deep dives on foundational Linux commands and Bash Scripting, revisiting Git, and getting up to speed on Docker. Right now, I'm hard at work on digesting Kubernetes.

And as an added bonus, I've been hard at work on a homelab, made up of a pile of older computers/laptops I have laying around. I've been using it to build skill on everything I'm learning. More on that soon.

Stay groovy.
